The air was thick, humid expressing the hot Texan day it had been. The night grew dark and with that, the noise came out. From crickets to chirps, the silence was filled. One could just feel the itch crawl up one's skin from the blood-lusting mosquitoes that come along with the agonizing heat. I turned to the sky with the moon shining full with light so illuminating as the glow of one's phone. I dipped my toes, one by one, feeling the cool, refreshing water seep into my skin. The heat had perished, only thing left was the wave of deep col water overtaking me, swallowing me whole. Silence....the burn of my crimson eyes, my corked-up ears, with rapid bubbles escaping my nose......all that was left was the heavy silence. With the realization of lack of air, I burst out the top like an emerging bird. It was a light Texas night.
